The School Run by Harriet Merry (Colossive Cartographies 62)

£2.00

So sad that it has come to this…

The car is a space for talking, not talking, laughing, singing, thinking, ranting, listening and observing. Charting the daily school run with her two kids, Harriet’s cartography embodies the safe space inside the car where so much ground is covered.

Hand-printed from recycled packaging, these illustrations pay tribute to the round-edged photos displayed in the albums of Harriet’s childhood. By using a modern-day, environmentally friendly form of printmaking to recreate their journey and conservations, she hopes to address some of the guilt she feels about her role in climate change.

Harriet Merry is an artist and printmaker, who – among many other things – is currently working on her first graphic novel.

A4, full colour, folded to A6. Also available as part of the six-issue Series Eleven set.

Colossive Cartographies use a simple pop-out format based on the Turkish map fold. We’re collaborating with creators including cartoonists, fine artists, poets, writers and photographers to bring an unpredictable range of visual practice into a hand-folded treat.
