Lost Hearts by M R James

£12.00

Some annoyance may be experienced from the psychic portion of the subjects, which popular language dignifies with the name of “ghosts”

When an orphan boy goes to stay with his reclusive cousin, he discovers that the older man’s research into the occult might have a macabre objective…

A handmade edition of one of MR James’s most famous chillers, originally published in the December 1895 issue of The Pall Mall Magazine and subsequently collected in the anthology Ghost Stories of an Antiquary (1904).

Limited edition of 10 copies; 171mm x 111mm; handbound 32-page placket book with an original linocut on the cover. Produced by Tom Murphy.

A warning to the curious… This has been lovingly produced, but it’s not the work of a master craftsman. It’s my second-ever attempt at linocut, and I learned the lovely placket binding technique as I went along on our dining table.
